Gambit Trailer Wrangles Its Way Online
Cameron Diaz is involved in a con job

We’ve been wondering what sort of comic concoction Michael Hoffman would cook up with his Coen brothers-scripted remake of 1960s crime caper Gambit. Now we can all get a look at Colin Firth, Cameron Diaz, Alan Rickman and the rest of the cast in the first trailer, above. Warning: contains nudity. And while Diaz does have one moment in her underwear, we’re talking Rickman.

Gambit finds Firth as Harry Deane, a mild-mannered, put-upon art curator who works for the eccentric, smug and thoroughly annoying billionaire Lionel Shabander (Rickman).

Sick of his boss’ whims and quirks, Harry hatches a scheme to dupe Shabander into buying a fake Monet painting. But to make the forgery convincing, he’ll need someone to help sell the idea. Enter PJ Puznowski (Diaz) a Texan rodeo queen who can catch Shabander’s eye as well as provide some fake background details for the art.

Naturally, things don’t go according to plan, and Harry is left in a compromising situation. But this definitely looks like it could be a screwball delight.

Featuring a cast that also includes Stanley Tucci, Cloris Leachman and Tom Courtenay, Gambit will be smuggled into cinemas on November 21.
