Daniel Craig Will Return As James Bond
For at least two more films

09 September 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Deadline

Daniel Craig Will Return As James Bond

Though the word first broke on Thursday via fan site MI6, the news has now been officially confirmed through channels and special decoder gadgets: Daniel Craig has agreed to return to play James Bond for at least two more films for Eon Productions.

With Casino Royale, Quantum Of Solace and now Skyfall under his stylish tux trouser belt, making five Bond movies will push him into position as the third-longest serving Bond actor.

Sony Pictures is also on board to put up the funds to make the films. The biggest sticking point will be scheduling. While the problems with MGM’s financial issues meant a delay between Quantum and Skyfall, the creative team involved have been happier with the longer break, which has led to more time developing the script. Sony would prefer to get back to one pic every two years, which would see Bond 24 arriving in 2014. It remains to be seen whether that actually happens.

For now, though, we’ve got Skyfall to look forward to, which hits our screens on October 28, while the US has to wait until November 9.

The latest featurette on the film is online via IGN, and takes a peek behind the scenes of the pre-credits sequence. Give it a look below.

RE: Fuck Nolan
I concur. L: spideed2 Im a huge comic fan and can honestly, with no offence intended that say what you just wrote there is a load of old bat shit. So its not Denny O'Neill's, Frank Millers, etc Batman, but Batman has survived and thrived on numerous and very different iterations. Nolan would be a superb Bond director as he simply makes great movies. More

Fuck Nolan
I dunno... Making a nice and compact trilogy out of Graig Bonds would've been cool and something different. And would you please stop that bullshit about Christopher Nolan directing Bond-movies before it becomes reality. The Dark Knight films were pretty good but they were horrible Batman adaptations. And I love Bond too much to see what this "visionary" would do with his "reimagining" of the greatest franchise in the history of cinema. More

Excellent news. As much as I'd love to see Michael Fassbender in the role, there's no guarantee he'd be chosen. Craig is brilliant as Bond, and I'll happily watch him do a few more (hopefully with Nolan directing one of them). More

meh
I can't stand the new Bond but the problem's with the writing, not the actor.  The creatives decided they want James Bourne, and Craig has delivered exactly what they wanted with gusto. More

Good news but....
Hope this doesn't mean they will do a continuing story over the three films like casino royale and quantum of solace, I like my bond movies as stand alone stories More

That's made my day, that has.
Brilliant news. Love Craig in the role and I suspect his involvement is why they're getting the higher profile directors these days. I'm champing at the bit for Skyfall at the IMAX and now I'm looking forward to even more great stuff in the future. I may have a Vesper to celebrate. Chin chin. More

thank god!
glad to hear it. there are still some who don't rate craig as bond but thankfully they are in the minority and sad sad people so we wont worry about them. i for one cant wait to see skyfall - bond is as much an event as it ever was. its the last great proper blockbuster series left. although the character came from books its also all about original screenplays too. and no bloody stupid easy cash in superheroes either. spandexed buffoons! its got the right actor playing the lead, that awesome h More

Good news.
I am a fan of mr.craigs take on Bond. I do think that the article highlights the 'creative teams' excuse for a more flimsy story line for QOS... Two years appart was never a problem before for the writers, what has become a problem is James Bond lives in a smaller, more dangerous world. The destinations are all within reach of a travel agent, the reporting villainy is overshadowed by the Internet and satellite spy cameras, the war mongerers today are tight terririst cells who hole up in bedsi More
