A new trailer has arrived for Tom Tykwer and the Wachowskis' astonishing-looking adaptation of Cloud Atlas, and there's good news for the time poor: it's only two minutes long.
Unlike that extended first-look trailer we soaked up back in July, this one doesn't have the onerous task of selling the movie's six-threaded narrative in its entirety. Instead, it focuses on the overarching themes that run through the historical, contemporary and sci-fi chapters: reincarnation, humanity's commonality, and how to break bad like Hugh Grant.
The adaptation of David Mitchell's novel by Lana and Andy Wachowski and co-director Tykwer looks like it'll be a feast for eyes. "It's a strange thing to describe", explains cast member Ben Whishaw, "but when I read it I thought, 'If they pull this off it could be really unique,' particularly because the actors keep popping up in different stories."
