Rosamund Pike Finds The World's End
On for Pegg, Frost & Wright's latest

12 August 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Baz Bamigboye

Rosamund Pike Finds The World's End

Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost appear to have picked the first outside element for their latest collaboration, Cornetto Trilogy cap The World’s End. They’re adding some top thesp power with the Mail’s Baz Bamigboye reporting that Rosamund Pike will appear in the movie.

There’s no word on which role she’ll be playing just yet, but then the whole film is largely still wrapped in secrecy beyond the basic synopsis.

Here’s what we know so far, having snagged Pegg and Wright for interviews you can read in the Dark Knight Rises issue of the mag. We had already been informed that the movie revolves around a pub crawl involving Gary King (Pegg) and four childhood friends (including Nick Frost as Andy Knight), while a cataclysmic, possibly apocalyptic event, rages around them. Pegg told us that the movie involves "a crawl through twelve pubs, culminating in the final one, which is The World's End."

Wright chips in, "This is as much about where you grew up as the people you grew up with. It's also very silly. I would say it's darker, more personal and more silly."

It all kicks off shooting next month and naturally we’ll be bringing you plenty of exclusive reports.

Pike was last seen in Wrath Of The Titans and is set to crop up in Jack Reacher, which hits these shores on December 26.

"Don't tell him Pike"
Odds are someone/everyone else has already spotted this but just on the off chance here's something I noticed above. The article mentioens that there will be 5 central characters forming the group of friends for the crawl. The 2 named so far (Pegg & Frost's characters) both have surnames of chess peices (King and Knight). Could this be a set up for some sort of apocolyptic prophecy in the plot that links the 5 of them together? i.e. Will an Ellie Bishop or a Gregg Rook be among the rest More
