One of the joys of Comic-Con, found away from the panels of Hall H, is the costumes on display. Empire has clapped our eyes on some doozies so far - expect full galleries in the next few days - but, even more excitingly, we grabbed a glimpse of some of the superhero costumes of future.
Safely ensconced behind perspex is Superman's suit from Man Of Steel, the chainmail effect and colours even more dazzling up close than in our first glimpse of Henry Cavill's superhero last year. Also on display is the biosuit that will help Will and Jaden Smith stay alive on a hostile, future version of our home planet in M. Night Shyamalan's After Earth.
With a similar, survival-orientated look but more of a robotic and steampunk feel are two of the suits that will help Idris Elba and co combat whatever vicious monsters Guillermo del Toro throws at them in Pacific Rim. We particular love the steampunk aesthetic of the second suit, which brings to mind Hellboy's Abe Sapien gone medieval. |
