Celeste & Jesse Forever Promo Is Here
Best friends. Soul mates. Separated...

21 June 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Apple

Celeste & Jesse Forever Promo Is Here

Having won plaudits at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, unusual rom-com Celeste And Jesse Forever is now making a run at getting the rest of us to like it. The first trailer for the movie is online over at Apple.

How is the film unusual, you ask? Well, for one thing, it takes place as the central couple are separated, on the road to a divorce. Celeste (Rashida Jones) and Jesse (Andy Samberg, making his second trailer appearance today) were amazing friends and a brilliant couple, but they got married young and have been steadily growing apart. Celeste is ambitious and on her way up, while Jesse’s aimless and largely free of ambition.

So they decide to divorce in an amicable and grown-up fashion, pledging to remain friends. Which they do, on both counts. Still, their friends begin to question the idea, especially since they’re always hanging around together. And then Jesse meets someone else. Cue a stay at the heartbreak hotel…

Co-written by Jones and Wil McCormack, and directed by Lee Toland Krieger, the movie looks to have a big heart and some fresh things to say about modern romance.

With Elijah Wood, Emma Roberts, Eric Christian Olsen, Ari Graynor and Rich Sommer also among the cast, Celeste And Jesse Forever will hit limited screens in the US on August 3, but there’s no set UK release yet. Still, we doubt it’ll take long for one to emerge...
