New Django Unchained UK Promo
New footage lurks within...

13 June 2012  |  Written by James White

The first trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained landed last week. And while you might think this latest, international promo for the movie would just be more of the same, it’s actually a funnier, punchier piece with plenty of new footage and glimpses of other cast members, including Samuel L Jackson.

Django Unchained, of course, finds dentist / bounty hunter Dr King Schultz (Christoph Waltz) freeing our hero (Jamie Foxx) from a chain gang. He offers Django a deal – if he helps Schultz track down the Brittle brothers and claim the reward, he’ll free the slave completely and aid him in finding his wife, Broomhilda (Kerry Washington). Django readily agrees, and embraces the lifestyle of a hunter, even if his wardrobe choices leave a little bit to be desired.

But his quest to rescue his beloved may be trickier than he thinks, since she’s in the clutches of nasty plantation owner Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio), who enjoys having his slaves fight to the death for his entertainment…

We’ll have to wait a little longer than the States for this one: Django Unchained hits our cinemas on January 18 next year. But if you want more about the movie, you should check out the latest issue of Empire, which has an exclusive set report. Find it in stores and on the iPad in both UK and US editions.
