Juno Temple Added To Maleficent
She'll be Thistletwit

17 May 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: The Hollywood Reporter

Juno Temple Added To Maleficent

It seems only days since we last checked in on the rapidly growing cast for Disney’s new take on the Sleeping Beauty tale Maleficent, and that’s because it is. Back then, Imelda Staunton and Lesley Manville were announced to play two of the pixies who watch over the slumbering Aurora (Elle Fanning) as she drools into her pillow. Now we have a third magical creature to help out, with Juno Temple signed to play Thistletwit.

Angelina Jolie has long since been lined up to play the titular character, the spurned witch who puts a curse on baby Aurora that sends her into her long sleep. The three pixies will do a slightly shoddy job of protecting her in a cottage deep within the woods.

Maleficent’s cast also includes Sharlto Copley, Miranda Richardson and Sam Riley in what promises to be a vastly expanded tale of the human world in constant tension with the fairy universe.

Robert Stromberg starts shooting this summer in London, working from Linda Woolverton’s script. It’s set to arrive in 2014. Temple will next be seen in The Dark Knight Rises, which you likely know gets here on July 20.
