Total Recall Teaser Teaser Online
Now with extra added motion poster

Between all the various Twilight teasers-for-trailers and the nuggets of the Prometheus promos doled out over time, it would appear that the trend for sneak-peeking footage is not going away any time soon. Total Recall is the latest movie to employ the trick, though at least the marketing team behind the film have done the decent thing and put out 30 seconds instead of, say, 12. Have a look below.

The brief taste is at least enough to get a feeling for Len Wiseman’s new version of the Philip K Dick story, which eschews all the Mars madness of the Paul Verhoeven take back in 1990.

We’ll reserve full judgement until the actual trailer arrives on Sunday at Apple, but for now it certainly appears to fulfil the action quotient of the summer blockbuster, with Colin Farrell’s Quaid running, jumping, fly/driving and reacting to things that go boom. Also present? Jessica Biel looking harried and Kate Beckinsale looking angry/attractive. Needs more Bryan Cranston, though.

There’s a hint of The Fifth Element and, of course, Blade Runner (flying cars in a cityscape) here, and a feeling that this one will be grimier. Clearly, it has some different elements that Arnie and co delivered. Check back with us when the full trailer makes its way to the web...

UPDATE: There are now also a motion poster (see below) and two normal posters (see below below). Looks quite Source Code, doesn't it?

Total Recall will be in UK cinemas come August 22.

RE: Total Reboot?.....
Not bad although does look like they've nicked their flying car from Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D More

Total Reboot?.....
.....Big fan of Mr Wiseman and his stylee,(i thought the 2nd Underworld fillem was FANTASTIC).Kate B is ace as well.Great choice to do this remake.I found the original quite depressing though i love Verhoeven and the original Robocop is still my favourite film of all time. More

RE: Film Pitch:
I think Farrell is just about perfect for this sort of role, but the involvement of Len Wiseman doesn't exactly give me much confidence. Hopefully it turns out to be an entertaining film, rather than a waste of both the property and Farrell's time and talents More

Film Pitch:
Source Code meets State And Main meets Apple Trailers; An established film-maker, who is also a war vet torso kept alive by nano-technology/AI/whatever that was meant to be, is trying to put out a trailer for his forthcoming film, but keeps getting derailed/backtracked by an over-sexed Alec 'Motherfucking' Baldwin type, studio execs, and producers who blindly follow the lead of others like they're in some sort of Tinseltown-y Human Centipede. Ad infintum. The movie never reaches release due t More

Looks like CG overload with armour designs stolen from the LMS Killbook and generally average production design. Blargh. More

Agree it needs more Cranston...
... but everything needs more Cranston. Quick aside: I am horrified to learn that Breaking Bad Season 3 isn't out until MAY! They said it was MARCH, yo! ... ahem ... anyway I'm going to say that hating a remake you haven't seen is silly, especially when it's not a remake of the movie but a new interpretation of the original material. People didn't mind True Grit so much, did they? This looks like the kind of loud, exploding movie that summers are made for. Reckon, so far, that I'll go see it! So More

"Consider That A Divorce"
@mclane1 At least 80% of remakes are rubbish. You've highlighted the handful of ones that were any good and ignored the huge amount that weren't. Pointing out that most remakes are awful, repetitive films is not negative, it's realistic and it's the truth. Deal with it. More

it will be great, stop being negative. we are stuck with remakes, live with it.
like fright night, dawn or the dead, assualt on precint 13 before it, this will be a good remake. mark my words More

"See You At The Party Richter" Not!
Yeah, doesn't look great. The chair for implanting the memories looks identical to the Schwarzenegger one from 22 years ago. The cast is full of actors who are okay on their day. Basically, everything that made Total Recall great in 1990 isn't there anymore in this remake. Will be a miracle if its any good. More

Can't really tell from that teaser but I'm kinda optimistic. Is it a rule nowadays to have the Inception bassline/tune in every trailer or teaser? More

RE: Total Recall
They must feel pretty confident that the official trailer Sunday is going to do a great job of selling the film. Possibly scared by a big recent sci fi box office flop and want to generate some buzz around this film. Lets see what Sunday pulls out of the bag. More

RE: This trailer for a trailer shit is going to become the norm
I guess they're still following the teaser - trailer - film schedule, but trying to build enthusiasm for a trailer this way is ridiculous. I hoped this would distance itself from the original but not by looking like Minority Report instead. More

Even the trailer for the trailer looks "meh"...
Seriously, what's the point? There's no Verhoeven, no Arnold, no Jerry Goldsmith and no Michael fracking Ironside. And on top it'll be PG-13. That didn't work with Terminator / Die Hard / anyotherfranchise-that-is-rated-R! More
