While there have already been unofficial set picture leaks from Tom Hooper’s new film of the musical Les Miserables, Hugh Jackman has decided to switch things up a little by posting the first official shot of his beardy mug as Jean Valjean. Take a look below while you wonder how many nits are living in that furry mouth merkin. 
As Jackman mentions, this is Valjean’s convict look and, if you know anything of the story, this is simply how he starts the tale after spending 19 years suffering hard labour for stealing bread to feed his family. Later, Valjean becomes a respected factory owner and town official, though his past and particularly his lawman nemesis Javert (Russell Crowe) are never far behind him. Hooper and co are shooting the film right now, with Jackman, Crowe and the rest of the cast (including Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Sacha Baron Cohen, Eddie Redmayne, Samantha Barks, Aaron Tveit and Helena Bonham Carter) all singing their songs on set. We’re hoping for big things from this one when it arrives on January 11, 2013. |
