New Looper Pics Hit
Joseph Gordon-Levitt is armed...

While this year’s WonderCon event was seemingly owned by Ridley Scott and Prometheus, there was also excitement in the shape of Brick/The Brothers Bloom director Rian Johnson, who showed up bearing the first trailer for his much-anticipated dip into science-fiction, Looper. Sadly, that hasn’t hit the web just yet, but two new pictures were released, and can be clocked below in the gallery.

Looper is set in a world where time travel is possible, but, because of the ramifications, illegal. Naturally, criminal types have gotten their mitts on the technology and the mob uses it to send intended victims 30 years into the past where hired guns called loopers are waiting to take them out and dispose of the bodies in a time where they’re untraceable.

Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is one such killer – but realises he’s in a spot of trouble when the latest target for assassination shows up... And it’s Joe's future self (Bruce Willis). Awkward!

The images, which follow the exclusive Willis shot we brought you last May, show the prosthetics used to bring JGL closer in appearance to his older co-star. It’s an intriguing look for him...

Given that this is a passion project for Johnson and sees him reuniting with his Brick leading man, you know we’re excited to see this one. With Emily Blunt, Paul Dano and Jeff Daniels also aboard, Looper will materialise on our screens on September 28.

RE: New Looper Pics Hit
Ryan Johnson is one of my favorite filmakers working today. BRICK was incredible, and BROTHERS BLOOM was a wonderful and charming film. Can't wait to see him tackle sci fi..... I just hope Bruce Willis doesn't phone it in. That guy has been sleep walking for years. More

Great Scott!
I foresee two possibilities. One, coming face to face with himself years older would put him into shock and he'd simply pass out. Or two, the encounter could create a time paradox, the results of which could cause a chain reaction that would unravel the very fabric of the space time continuum, and destroy the entire universe! Granted, that's a worse case scenario. The destruction might in fact be very localized, limited to merely our own galaxy. More
