First Official Great Gatsby Pics Online
Leo DiCaprio and co live the swanky life

13 December 2011  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Sassisam

While there have been several unauthorised set pics featuring Leonardo DiCaprio and some of the other cast members from Baz Luhrmann’s take on The Great Gatsby floating around, Warners has now released a couple of official snaps from the movie, featuring the actors in all their finery. Take a look in the gallery below.

For those not in the know, Gatsby is taken from F Scott Fitzgerald’s novel, narrated from the point of view of aspiring writer and World War I veteran Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire). Renting a house on West Egg, Long Island, Nick encounters some of the rich types who enjoy the high life of the locality, including the enigmatic Jay Gatsby and some he already knows, including his cousin, Daisy Buchanan (Carey Mulligan).

Their lives seem to be perfect, but most of it seems to be a front, as they’re all bored and carrying on regular affairs. One – between Daisy’s husband Tom (Joel Edgerton) and a woman named Myrtle Wilson (Isla Fisher) ends in tragedy.

Luhrmann has been busy shooting the movie in 3D in Australia. The US will see the result on December 25, 2012, but there’s no word on a UK release date just yet.

3D isn't good as 4D which is trumped by 5D
Whoah dude! that champagne flute, I can almost reach out and touch it. If only it were in 4D, I could drink it, or 5D, I could offer Michelle Williams my popcorn. More

Re: Now that's a movie I WANT to see in 3D!
Don't get me wrong, I'm not against 3D, but just strikes me as not necassary in this case. Hope to be proved wrong... More

Now that's a movie I WANT to see in 3D!
3D should enhance something that's already great, not be a carrot to get people to watch sh*t. I'm really looking forward to Gatsby and if it's shot in 'proper' 3D then I'm in. I'm sure 3D will be a cherry on top of the icing of a wonderful cake. More

Why 3D?
Sounds interesting, but can't imagine the sort of audience this film will attract would be influenced by it being in 3D! More
