Harry Lennix On For Man Of Steel
Everyone salute General Swanwick

10 July 2011  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Variety

Harry Lennix On For Man Of Steel

Though a lot of the elements that will go to make up Zack Snyder’s new Superman film Man of Steel are, thanks to producer Chris Nolan, largely being kept under wraps, it would seem we can expect a sizeable military presence in the plot. How do we know? Another actor – Harry Lennix – has been cast as General Swanwick in the movie.

Naturally, there’s no word yet on how he’ll factor into the plot, or whether he’ll help or hinder our hero.

But he’s joining a cast that already includes Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Russell Crowe, Julia Ormond, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Antje Traue and Christopher Meloni, who was recently added and has said he’s also playing a military type.

Lennix is probably best known for playing Commander Lock in The Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions, but also had a sizeable role in Ray.

With a script written by David Goyer, Snyder plans to kick off shooting in September, aiming for a December, 2012 release date.

I thought this wasn't an origin story?
Like the fact that Russel Crowe is cast as Supes Biological Dad but we were told that they were skipping origins and getting straight into the action? More
