First Silent Hill: Revelation 3D Pic
Michael J Basset kicks off shooting...

08 March 2011  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Davis Films

We’ve known for a while that the sequel to 2006’s video game-based horror Silent Hill is on its way. Well, now the producers have announced the start of filming and sent across the first image of actress Adelaide Clemens as main character Heather Mason.

Solomon Kane’s Michael J Bassett wrote the script and is behind the camera for this one, which will follow on the story from the first film while also loosely borrowing elements from the various entries in the game series.

The plot finds Heather and her father as a pair always on the run from her past, and trying to stay one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn’t truly understand. Now, as she’s about to turn 18, she suffers violent nightmares and discovers that her identity is a lie and is dragged into the demonic world of Silent Hill, where she could be trapped forever…

Clemens, who was seen in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and will also crop up in Mad Max: Fury Road when George Miller finally gets to shoot it, is joined in the film by Kit Harington, whose only other major credit to date is in the upcoming Game of Thrones miniseries.

Bassett started calling the shots in 3D this week at the movie’s Toronto set, and it doesn’t have a release date sorted yet.

RE: Actually sounds quite good
I've said the same thing. And any director of a silent hill film should at least watch Lynch's 'Industrial Symphony No.1' cos I totallysuperswear that's where the 'melancholy atmosphere, sense of decay hanging heavy in the air, punctuated by sirens going off followed by freaky looking creatures showing up' schtick of the first game came from in the first place.
