Avengers Comic-Con Teaser Online
Sam Jackson does his narrator thang

Good grief… Just look at how Mark Ruffalo acts as Bruce Banner! And Jeremy Renner in full Hawkeye getup! And who could ever believe Joss Whedon managed to pull off that amazing single tracking shot through the entire solar system to… Made you look! The teaser that sits below, is, of course, full of none of those things. But it is the “footage” that Marvel showed off at Comic-Con right before it brought out the Avengers cast.

No, it’s not an unofficial leak (Imaginary Forces, the company that created the animation, along with the movie logos for both Marvel and DC, released it); it’s a proper copy. But if you really were expecting something amazing before a single frame of the film has been shot? Then we’ve got some magic beans you might be interested in swapping for a cow.

Still, as a way to whip up interest, and featuring Samuel L Jackson doing his best Dramatic Voiceover work as Nick Fury, it was enough to get the Comic-Con Hall H crowd cheering.

Of course, to get the full effect, you really have to cue up 6,5000 screaming people and the cast plus Whedon to walk out in front of your computer once you’re finished watching it. But you can always put this on instead….

We'll see The Avengers, assuming all goes well, on May 4, 2012.

So Marvel...don't believe this hype....the cast is dire, the FX will be dire....I can imagine the goofs and continuity errors as we speak! Coe on Nolan, I need another Bats and Supes...Marvel are dripping piss! More

RE: Oh...
Thing is, DC/Warners don't need to do this. They have Batman and Superman.   If Marvel had Spiderman and the X-Men back under its fold we wouldn't be seeing any of this happening. A Dark Knight at the moment is worth 2 Iron Man movies in terms of box-office. Closest rival to that is Spidey.   Warners have other properties as well - Harry Potter for instance, which is just as "big picture" as The Avengers. Tell a eight story film series, with the same cast and crew? I don't t More

L: KeithM I think you overestimate WB/DC's thinking tbh. I think they've simply not had the confidence in anything not Batman (and to a lesser extent Superman - although I do think they've been uncertain for a long time about how to approach the big guy).  If not for Nolan, and now Marvel stealing the lead in being bold and thinking big, I think they'd still be stuck in their old ways.hat's a great point actually, I'd have to concurr with that.  More

RE: Oh...
If you take the Batman films and Superman Returns and compare them to Iron Man 1 +2 and The Incredible Hulk, it's heavily balanced in favour of DC in terms of overall quality. The Marvel films so far have been enjoyable but with the possible exception of the first Iron Man, you wouldn't describe any of them as the genre at it's very best. More

L: KeithM Avengers hasn't even started filming yet - not until winter (Jan/Feb I think) - this was just a teaser put together for comic-con for the fans. ree that Feige/Marvel has no 'big picture' plan - completely.  Marvel's 'big picture' is bigger than anything WB/DC have ever attempted, bigger than anyone has ever attempted. *excited squeal*
All that excitement comes with huge expectations though. Joss is great at making you care about characters but he's only done one full feature length film and although it was pretty damn good it was a low budget affair with characters that people loved but didn't know too much about because they were Joss's characters and it was his story. I have no doubt he will treat the Avengers with respect but the stakes are high and although the Iron Mans are generally acceptable movie fodder you kinda More

I'd like to have seen Ant-Man in the Avengers movie. He was a founding member after all. And even if Hawkeye gets loads of screen time, I reckon he could just be in there for the purposes of killing off one of the good guys.
