Kristen Stewart Going On The Road
She's joined the Jack Kerouac adaptation

Kristen Stewart is the latest name attached to a long-developing adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s beloved beat-poet novel On The Road.

Stewart has signed on to play Marylou alongside Tron Legacy’s Garrett Hedlund (playing Dean Moriarty – Marylou’s husband) and Control’s Sam Reilly (as travelling buddy Sal).

A cinematic version of Kerouac’s book has been a fever dream of filmmakers for years, with the likes of Francis Ford Coppola and Gus Van Sant taking aim at it. “I am very much attached to a movie that has been trying to get made forever,” Stewart told USA Today (via The Playlist Nation). “Not that this is going to help it, but maybe I can just brag a little bit. I am super excited about it, too.” Never underestimate the power of the Dark Si... er.. Twilight fan base!

With Coppola producing, Walter Salles aims to get the thing moving at last this summer.

Yikes
I thought her presence in Into the Wild was bad enough. Must she spoil every great travel book-to-film adaptation? More

Oh God No
While the choice for Dean Moriarty retains the official title of Worst Casting Choice Of All Time, this announcement goes further to warn that this will be the most monumental disaster in the history of film as hollywood dips its greedy sleazy fingers into another masterpiece and adapts it into tacky trash. What's next? Shia LaBeouf as Jack? I sincerely hope this film is never made. More
