Political satire Butter is rapidly gathering one of the biggest, most eclectic casts around, and Hugh Jackman and Alicia Silverstone are just the latest to sign on.

Variety reports that the film – which revolves around Jennifer Garner as an ambitious butter-carving expert (yes, it’s a real event) who tries to take over the mantle from her retiring champion hubbie (Ty Burrell).

But there’s the small matter of the young girl (Yara Shahidi) who is proving to be a major player in the world of dairy art, spurred on by her foster mother (Silverstone).

Jackman will be Garner’s old boyfriend, while Olivia Wilde and Ashley Greene are also aboard.

Jim Field Smith, who last shot the upcoming She’s Out Of My League, kicks off filming later this month.
