Spy Hunter Back In Gear
Warners wants to give the game a try…

23 March 2010  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Heat Vision Blog

Spy Hunter is one of those projects – in this case, a game adaptation – that has been plaguing Hollywood for years, with titles and filmmakers announced then fading away. Now Warner Bros. thinks it can do what Universal has failed to achieve and bring it to the screen.

The studio nabbed the rights to the title last year when it bought up Midway Games. It’s hired Chad St John to craft a new script for Sherlock Holmes producer Dan Lin.

It’ll follow a highly trained spy who tracks down rogue agents in his tricked-out G-6155 Interceptor sports vehicle, loaded down with weapons and abilities to destroy enemy vehicles.

Dwayne Johnson wanted to star for ages, but his name is not currently attached. And while the likes of John Woo and Paul WS Anderson have both developed versions of the movie to direct, the latest development doesn’t have anyone behind the camera just yet.

Maybe this time
This might be a good time to try this. The flood of terrible videogame movies seem to have eased off and with optimism for 'Prince of Persia' audiences may be willing to give the genre another chance. More
