Exclusive Man On Wire Clip
Walking the tightrope

26 June 2008  |  Written by Glen Ferris

Before we get started, Man On Wire is not a sequel to the Denzel Washington/Tony Scott death fest Man On Fire so don't get the wrong idea.

It is in fact an intriguing documentary about what was dubbed "the artistic crime of the 20th Century".  In 1974, tightrope walker Philippe Petit attempted a daring, but highly illegal, high-wire routine performed between New York City's World Trade Centre's Twin Towers. Some called him stupid, others called him crazy - we think he might have been a bit of both.

We've got our hands on an exclusive clip from the film, which is released on August 1. Click below to take a look.

I could do that. While fighting Gandhi. Yep, nothing useful to say, but that's the glory of the internet for you, gives folks like me the chance to give form to our scintillating thoughts and turgid ideas. More
