Len Wiseman Playing Shell Game
Die Hard 4 director going sci-fi

11 March 2008  |  Written by Olly Richards  |  Source: Variety

Die Hard 4.0 received a mixed reaction, but you can't deny that Len Wiseman did a much better job as director than most suspected based on his work on the Underworld films. So, it's with interest that we greet the news that he's found a new project, Shell Game.

The film, described by Wiseman as a passion project, is a sci-fi action thriller set in the future and follows a detective who faces a moral dilemma while investigating the black market business of immortality. Wiseman and Chris Morgan are currently redrafting an original script by Justin Bondi and Andrew Ludington.

"I've been wanting to make this film for the past five years, but it's a huge film and has always been too expensive to make at the level I've wanted to make it at," Wiseman said. "Now I'm finally getting a chance to do it at that level."

It shows you the clout that you can acquire when you have a hit of the level of Die Hard 4.0. Wiseman has now moved several rungs up the go-to director list. The set-up sounds a touch Blade Runner and Wiseman's proven his action directing abilities, so this sounds like it could be good.
