What's Happening With The Hobbit?
Catch up on Shaye vs Jackson

The Hobbit movie, or rather the enduring lack of a movie of the Lord of the Rings prequel, has been one of the most discussed projects of the last few years, largely because of the falling out between New Line and Peter Jackson, which has held the movie in limbo.

This
cover article for US magazine Entertainment Weekly doesn't really offer any concrete news, but it's a great catch-up for those who are confused by all the ins and outs of the case and don't understand why those kids can't just get along and give us Bilbo Baggins' adventures.

Don't get too excited about the movie happening though. As the piece says, olive branches are being tentatively extended between New Line head Bob Shaye and Jackson, but the film – if it ever happens – is still a way off.

2 FILMS!!
I can only imagine how good that would be *swoon* Too bad the earlier Tolkien stuff probably cant translate to movies as well as the Hobbit and LOTR will / do. SO making two hobbit films increasing the amount of middle earth movies beyond what most people could have hoped for :) Give Jacko the cash!! More

PATIENCE
I was really thrilled when i heard that The Hobbit is gonna be done, so you can imagine how disappointed i was when the fighting began....But i'm gonna be patient cause look at the Lord of the Rings, they took 7 years in the making and WHAT A RESULT! So i'm not quitting my hopes yet....I know its really hard that jackson will be the one directing,(personally he's the best for it) if we want to see results like LOTR, but there are alot of fantastic directors out there that can really make it.... November shoot in Benidrom, change the ring to Quail eggs and get the bastard released in time for the Oscars. Change the title to Charlie Wilsons Hobbit with Iraq undertones an More

I have to agree with pilky07 on this one.  It's the biggest case of 'rtyty' I've seen in a good long while, I'm sure you'd all agree.    In fact, take a letter:   Dear Mr Shaye,   Re: The Hobbit   rtyty.   Yours sincerely,   Nicholson's 'M' Head     That'll show them. More
