Peter Berg Ponders Tonight, He Comes
Will he direct the superhero drama?

13 October 2006  |  Written by   |  Source: Production Weekly

It’s spin-the-director’s chair time again for superhero saga Tonight, He Comes as Peter Berg, the man who made The Rundown, is now mulling the prospect of taking it on.

Tonight, He Comes – which follows a troubled superhero taking a dive into Brooklyn and romancing a housewife – has Will Smith on board to star for Columbia Pictures. But it’s been through a smorgasbord of directors – Michael Mann, T3’s Jonathan Mostow and The Pursuit Of Happyness helmer Gabriele Muccino have all flirted with the idea of filling the big chair.

Now, of course, we wait to see if A) Berg takes the job and B) how long he stays. That sound you hear is producer Akiva Goldsman sneaking up on him with a bolt gun – if he’s not careful, Berg won’t be moving from the director’s chair ever again.
