Jonathan Mostow Aboard Sub-Mariner
Bringing the Marvel hero to life

DC’s Aquaman might be confined to the realms of fantasy movie making on US TV’s Hollywood satire Entourage for now, but his watery Marvel counterpart is making waves at Universal.

Sub-Mariner – the Marvel character first created by Bill Everett in 1939 – focuses on a young man who learns he’s descended people who inhabited lost city of Atlantis. Trouble is, there’s a battle stewing between his people and our world, and he’s caught in the middle…

The Mariner movie has been swimming through development for several years, with Chris Columbus the last man to seriously consider taking it on in 2004.

Now Terminator 3’s Jonathan Mostow has decided to take the dive. But before he can even consider starting to shoot the movie, he’ll rewrite David Self’s script. Which, loosely translated, means don’t expect the movie before 2008…

shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
namor sucks cock! Hes a rubbish character and a rubish comic to boot! There are so many other good comics that could be made into films instead of this, which willprobably become an enviromental story! Spend the money on making adecent Fantastic four film or even better make a hellblazer movie that is faithfull to teh comic, not keanu reeves runnign around in la battling his way throiugh a script of debatable decency and the quietest con versations ever (seriously does anyone elses dvd have s More

sub mariner
I think its cool that marvel comics are been made into live acting fims, and DC should also make warner brothers make aquaman so that there could be a Aqauman vs sub mariner movie too. I hope in the future they also make the fantastic four vs sub mariner. More

RE: Dull
This is bad news - Mostow is a hack. U-571 was both untruthful about an event in recent history and incredibly dull to boot. Terminator 3 was just a lame retread of T2. Namor deserves better! More

Dull
One of the least interesting comic characters around. i wonder if he is going to have the little wings on his ankles to let him fly(I always wondered what that was about) ? More
