Three Thesps Fighting Mutants
Rea, Perlman and Furrman join sci-fi

08 May 2006  |  Written by   |  Source: The Hollywood Reporter

Thomas Jane and John Malkovich have recruited a few fresh faces to join them in a battle with mutants swarming the Earth.

No, not a meeting of Hollywood agents, more the cast of The Mutant Chronicles, based on the popular (apparently) role-playing game, which Simon Hunter will direct this summer.

The plot has Jane’s 23rd century soldier Mitch Hunter fighting vicious NecroMutants threatening to wipe out humanity. Malkovich plays the scheming leader of a huge corporation who’s up to no good (no shock there, surely?)

Now add in V For Vendetta’s Stephen Rea, who will play Jane’s former commander, German thesp Benno Furmann as his former enemy who joins forces with him to help him in his struggle, and Ron “Hellboy” Perlman, who will no doubt steal the film as a religious leader who originally enlists Jane’s help.

I hope he plays it just like in Name of the Rose. Kinda... spazzy (sorry). That'd be funny. More
