Empire's Winter Preview Cover Is Here!
David Fincher's Gone Girl leads the charge

The October issue of Empire magazine hits newsagents shelves both literal and digital this week, and contained inside is an essential guide to the films that will be rocking your world this winter, led by David Fincher's Gone Girl, Christopher Nolan's Interstellar, Ridley Scott's Exodus: Gods And Kings and Francis Lawrence's The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1.

But it's Fincher's film that is front and centre on this month's cover, as the director tells us, "I want to make a date movie that results in at least 15 million divorces. We were constantly trying to walk that line; I want it to work and live in the area of slightly tongue-in-cheek, but also morally repellent. I liked the idea of the audience coming in going, 'I know what this is,' and then it goes horrendously off the rails - for everybody involved."

There is much more from Fincher and his cast inside the issue, with a world-exclusive report from the film's set. That is, of course, only the tip of the iceberg this month. We also have a huge TV preview for the season ahead, a Games preview to show what will be rocking consoles this winter, and films from The Man From U.N.C.L.E. to Fifty Shades Of Grey to Big Hero Six. It's jam-packed, is what we're saying.

The October Empire hits shelves on Thursday August 28, so make sure you get your hands on one and start planning your viewing for the colder months. To make sure you never miss an issue, you can subscribe to Empire here and save money while you're at it.

Great cover!
Great cover guys- I love your magazine, but lately there's been far too many superhero/ comic covers. I know this is the trend and that they sell better. This cover finally reminds me of why I fell for magazine in the first place- keep up the good work ;p More

Much more like it! A grown up thriller coming out soon as opposed to a superhero film due out 10 months down the line. More

Welcome change
This must be the first non-blockbuster/non-superhero cover for quite a while...thank god. More
