New Trailer Online For Christopher Nolan's Interstellar
This sci-fi sure involves a lot of cornfields...

16 May 2014  |  Written by Helen O'Hara  |  Source: YouTube

Christopher Nolan's latest secrecy-fest, sci-fi Interstellar, has just become a tiny bit less obscure with the debut of the film's first full trailer. At the very least, we learn more about Matthew McConaughey's lead, Cooper, and then we get to tour some extensive cornfields.

Cooper is, we learn, "an educated man, a trained pilot and an engineer", but his technical skills are more or less irrelevant in a world that's running low on food. Thank goodness, then, for Michael Caine's visionary, who has a plan to save the world by buggering off somewhere else - and he needs Cooper to make the trip. With two young children at home, it's not an easy decision, but soon Cooper's off amid the stars as the weather worsens back home.

At least, we think that's what's happening, so please stop making jokes about Signs and comparing it to Looper. This trailer hasn't shed vast amounts of light on the story so let's hope they're holding back lots and lots for us to enjoy when Interstellar hits cinemas in the UK on November 7.

The film, of course, also stars Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain (as the grown version of Cooper's daughter Murphy), Topher Grace, Wes Bentley, John Lithgow, Casey Affleck and David Oyelowo.

Nolan got a massive pass for TDKR rises that still pisses me off so i'm just hoping he creates something that doesn't insult the viewer's intelligence. More

Hmmmmm....
Speculative sci-fi...very difficult to pull off. Time travel paradox sci-fi...almost as hard to do well. Preachy environmentalist bilge...plain boring. Mind you, if the plot does involve deep frozen astronauts who travel through a wormhole through the future, who then somehow manage to go back to their own present from the other end, expect Nolan to say loudly that he's never heard of Planet of the Apes, just like he could direct the Dark Knight without ever being aware of The Man who shot Liber More

Cant wait.Nolan hasnt made a bad movie yet and just gets better and better as a filmaker. However, the trailer does make the film look like Contact 2. More

From what I could gather from this trailer, it looks technically incredible, as we've come to expect from Nolan. The story looks quite boring for now... More

Old school trailer
Completely agree with partybee, excellent trailer that sets up the plot with very little given away. I'd prefer this to the infinite trailers and TV spots which reduce other blockbusters to an exercise in checking off the bits I've already seen in the promo. More

Looking great.
The trailer's certainly a reaction to the age of YouTube, where we can watch all the money shots and gags etc ad infinitum until the movie's released. I don't know how much more people expect from a trailer? The premise/set-up is there and there's a glimpse of the sci-fi stuff at the end. Perhaps pre-release over-exposure is a factor affecting cinema attendance that hasn't really been considered/explored yet? This is reminding me of a slow-burn 90's type campaign. Also, Empire, I was unaware of More

Kip Thorne
I've read the old synopsis. The probe was sent through time to tell us of a new planet. They find the wormhole and travel through time to find out they have been there before. Mat D gave his son a watch and has to figure out how to get back because they are now 50+ years into the future. More

Just because.......
Most trailers give too much away. This doesn't justify creating one with all the boring bits. However we all know know we're going to watch it because it's going to be fucking awesome despite TDKR. More

RE: Not a good trailer/Trolls need to work harder
I liked it and I always like that Nolan's trailers don't give too much away. People moan about seeing too much now too little, which just goes to show that you can't please everybody. I imagine there will be another trailer down the line which might give us more, but it looks really promising. More

Not a good trailer/Trolls need to work harder
I have little doubt that this will be an excellent movie, however this is a poor trailer. I admire the principle of not giving too much away in a trailer but there should still be some compelling footage. On another note, surely we have all outgrown some of the trolling here? Are people so lazy as to look for reactions by inferring that Nolan is talentless or a bad director? Grow up. More

2001 ish
Look likes it'll get a bit trippy on entering the wormhole/thingy. IF he comes back, like he states in the trailer, could possibly why younger & older actors are playing his children, then this is going 2001 / Planet of the Apes (with out apes). Does he come back unaged or really old? I get this horrible feeling that 90% of the movie will be Earth based and 10% at the end will be in space! More
