Katey Sagal Joins Pitch Perfect 2
As Hailee Steinfeld's mother

Katey-Sagal-Joins-Pitch-Perfect-2

While most of the Pitch Perfect sequel casting news has been about returning alumni such as Rebel Wilson and Anna Kendrick, there is clearly room in debut director Elizabeth Banks’ film for new cast members. Sons Of Anarchy’s Katey Sagal is one such example.

Sagal is set to play fellow new arrival Hailee Steinfeld’s mother in the film, which is keeping its plot such a closely guarded secret that any who dare sneak into rehearsal rooms or sound stages are sentenced to death by cups. But we do know that several of the original Pitch Perfect cast will be back alongside Kendrick and Wilson, with Brittany Snow, Alexis Knapp, Hana Mae Lee and Adam DeVine all confirmed to crop up again.

How Steinfeld and, by extension, Sagal, fit into the story is a mystery for now. Banks, who announced Sagal’s casting first via her website (which was then picked up by The Hollywood Reporter), is busy shooting the film, working from Kay Cannon’s script. She's also likely to show up in front of the camera once again as cynical a capella commentator Gail. Universal has set the sequel for a May 15 release date next year.
