New Expendables 3 Team Photo Lands
Plus Snipes and Stallone play knifey-knifey

As we approach the third phase of the Stallonification of cinema - better known as The Expendables 3 - the promo materials will be parachuting in thick and fast. The latest from the Lionsgate marketing team involves two stills from the Sly actioner: one, an on-set groupshot of our heroes; the other, this rather ace knife-off between Jason Statham's franchise veteran Lee Christmas and Wesley Snipes' nattily-dressed newcomer Surgeon. Click on the pic for a closer look as the pair play Who's Got The Nicest Cutlery?, tough guy-style.

Also tickling our eyeballs is this handy team photo of The Expendables 3 line-up. Going anti-clockwise from left to right on the team photo : Antonio Banderas, Arnold Schwarzenegger (and friend), Wesley Snipes, Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Victor Ortiz, Randy Couture, Ronda Rousey, Dolph Lundgren, Kellan Lutz, Glen Powell and Jet Li. Absent with a note from his mum (or J.J. Abrams): Harrison Ford.

The Return Of The Jedi leg of the Expendables franchise finds our heroes targeted by an old friend turned vicious enemy. Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), who co-founded the original core group with Stallone’s Barney Ross, has since become an arms trader and decides to take out the gang. They have to recruit some new blood to fight an old-school threat. Most intriguingly, the trailer says this is their “last ride” so either that means they’re planning to bow out after this one, or something very bad happens to the group bus at the end. Or they all get together and sing 'Yub Nub'.

The Expendables 3 will be arriving in our local multiplexs and firing smoke grenades willy-nilly into the pick 'n' mix on August 15.
