Zack Snyder To Direct The Justice League
Following the Man Of Steel sequel

Zack-Snyder-On-For-Justice-League

The news has about as much shock value as a plastic Halloween mask on a parrot with the lights turned on, but after plenty of speculation, Warner Bros. has gone on the record with the Wall Street Journal about plans for a Justice League movie. And according to the studio’s bosses, Zack Snyder is the man to make it.

We’ve suspected this was coming for ages, especially since Snyder’s current assignment, which Warners’ president of worldwide production Greg Silverman labels Superman Vs. Batman though no official title has been announced, is so loaded with DC heroes it’s a wonder the studio doesn’t just go ahead and call it Justice League: Prequel. Still, perhaps the confirmation that a Justice League film proper is coming after Superman Vs Batman can lay to rest concerns that this next film might be a Justice League effort in disguise.

With Henry Cavill’s Superman now joined by Ben Affleck’s Batman, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman and a host of other characters (including Lex Luthor, played in the new film by Jesse Eisenberg, and the recently-announced Cyborg, played by Ray Fisher), the Man Of Steel follow-up (Steelquel?) really is setting the scene for DC’s big team-up film.

Warner Bros. has been trying to get the League off the ground for ages on film, and the pressure to make it happen has only been increased by Marvel’s success with the Avengers and other heroes. There is also some suggestion in the article that the League work may finally give Wonder Woman her long-cherished shot at a solo film.

Justice League is in development, but there’s no word on when it might come out. Given Snyder’s busy schedule with the current superhero film, we wouldn’t it expect it before 2018 at the earliest, unless he’s pulling a sneaky back-to-back production job.

Superman Vs. Batman, assuming it ends up with that title, will hit our screens on May 6, 2016.

Also!
Also! Snyder pulled off the sexualised badass in Watchmen incredibly well but that was because it was relevant. Wonder Woman is not. More

Face he truth.
Can well all agree that Winder Woman sucks? C'mon, this is nothing to so with gender politics... she is just boring. She is a product of her time and cannot be translated without a heft of post modernism and irony. On Snyder himself? I think he is a great director but wrapping the world around the lens of one director is clumsy - that's one of the reasons why Marvel is kicking DC's ass! More

RE: Fans what fans
L: rich Because Marvel are doing talking raccoons, and DC can't even get a female hero done after all this messing around hat's because a talking raccoon in a team that consists of a female, a wrestler, a hot funny guy, and vin diesel targets a lot more demographics than one female. Even though females are half of the paying movie audience, a lot of them will just as much like to see a guy kick ass, as long as the guy looks hot. For identification purposes they throw in the occasiona More

RE: Fans what fans
L: BelfastBoy Why the obsession with Wonder Woman as a character anyway? Surely decades of failed attempts at getting TV shows and films off the ground are suggestive in some way of a character that writers and producers are struggling to make relevant for a contemporary audience? (By that I'm probably really meaning that said creative types are struggling to come up with ways to make Wonder Woman not come across as a ludicrously costumed sex object in this more PC age?!) ^This^^ More

*sighs*
I am everything Snyder should want - I like going to the cinema to watch things go 'boom'. I am a geek and a media whore in every way. But I just can't get excited about this and I don't know why!? Is it because Man of Steel whilst visually stunning was arguably one of the most depressing superhero comic adaptations ever seen on screen?? Possibly...is it because Snyder has made two films where he has had to juggle multiple characters and they were The Watchman (a shot by shot remake of the comic More

Back-to-back
I think the James White comment about possibly making the Justice League film back to back with this BvS film might be on the mark. With the number of heroes and the huge cast that are meant to be appearing it BvS, either it's going an overcrowded mess, or they are filming two films at the same time. More

RE: Zack Snyder On For Justice League
I for one am going to give this a chance, everyone is slating S Vs B before even a screenshot has been shown, nevermind a trailer or footage, i know its because of overcrowding issues and Ben Affleck being Batman etc but a lot of people were not keen on Heath Ledger being Joker for The Dark Knight and he ended up pulling off an amazing performance, sure not to everyones tastes i'm sure but i think he did a fantastic real world Joker i am sure that the other heros in S Vs B will be cameos mai More

Fans what fans
I think what the comic book fans forget is, these films are not made for you, the studio does not care about you because you are not the cinema going public. Of course they want your money but in comparison to the mass public who go see films its small. The public don't care if supermans origin story is slightly of kilter. Justice league will sell on word of mouth, is it good is it bad. Man of steel in my opinion was actually quite good. Yes it had its faults, no it wasnt perfect but I enjoyed i More

RE: Will never get made
It depends - critical maulings don't matter if the money rolls in. If S vs B makes the big bucks, Justice League will just happen, with or without critics / fan reactions More
