Harrison Ford Talks Blade Runner Sequel
'I'm quite curious and excited'

Blade Runner

This weekend Harrison Ford submitted himself to a Reddit grilling in which, between revelations about snakes (likes them) and David Blaine ("spooky"), he shared his thoughts on the long-mooted Blade Runner sequel. Positive thoughts, too.

“I’m quite curious and excited about seeing a new script for Blade Runner", Ford wrote. "If in fact the opportunity would exist to do another, if it’s a good script I would be very anxious to work with Ridley Scott again. He’s a very talented and passionate filmmaker."

Despite painful memories of a Blade Runner shoot he still recalls as the most difficult he's experienced, with 50 night shoots in a row and almost constant rain, he said that he's keen to get back under the skin of Deckard. "I think it would be very interesting to revisit the character.”

Ridley Scott, of course, is already on record saying that the sequel to his Philip K. Dick-inspired sci-fi "will happen sooner or later", and Ford's enthusiasm means that a big part of the jigsaw should fall more easily into place. But since they have differed in the past on whether or not Deckard is himself a replicant, it remains to be seen whether the star and director can really see eye-to-eye on a new script.

"I quite understand that everybody has an ambition when they come and do a film, and everyone's ambition may not be focused on the same thing," the actor explained, with some vagueness, back in October. "I truly admire Ridley as a man and as a director, and I would be very happy to engage with him again in the further telling of this story."

Clearly Harrison's not seen Prometheus yet. Also Deckard and Rachel never lived happily ever after... Being replicants, both would've expired "like tears... in... rain. Time... to die..." More

This is truly one film that absolutely, positively is not needed and should not be made. I don't need to know what happened to Deckard and Rachel. They lived happily ever after. More
