First Look At Dolphin Tale 2
Winter is coming... back to our screens

The residents of Game Of Thrones’ Westeros are going to be really surprised when they discover that the legendary “winter” they’ve all been told is coming, turns out to be the loveable sea creature at the heart of 2011’s Dolphin Tale. We hope they have adequate fish supplies on hand… Meanwhile, Winter is back for another round of watery issues thanks to Dolphin Tale 2.

Reuniting director Charles Martin Smith with cast members including Morgan Freeman, Kris Kristofferson, Ashley Judd, Harry Connick Jr., Nathan Gamble, Austin Stowell and the real-life Winter herself, the sequel picks up the story several years after Sawyer Nelson (Gamble) helped to rescue the trapped dolphin and nursed her back to health with the help of the Clearwater Marine Hospital in Florida.

Winter has flourished since she was provided with the prosthetic tail that Dr. Cameron McCarthy (Freeman) designed to replace the one she lost to a trap. But trouble hits when her elderly mother Panama dies and she’s left alone in her tank. According to regulations, Dolphins must be housed at least in pairs, so if a new companion can’t be found for her, she’ll have to be moved elsewhere.

What will happen? Can Winter solve the problem by attaching a machine gun to her special tail and taking out anyone trying to make her leave? Probably not, but we’ll find out for sure on October 17.
