Alison Brie Joins Get Hard
She's set for the Will Ferrell/Kevin Hart comedy

Alison-Brie-Joins-Get-Hard

With two current comedy stars in Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart and a stalwart 'That Guy' in Craig T. Nelson, prison pic Get Hard needed a little female energy for balance. It now has it thanks to Community’s Alison Brie.

Admittedly, Deadline’s claim to an exclusive casting scoop would be a little more convincing if Etan Cohen, the Tropic Thunder writer who is making his directorial debut with the film, hadn’t tweeted a picture of Brie and Ferrell reading the script at the weekend.

Written by newcomers Ian Roberts and Jay Martel, Get Hard tracks what happens when nerdy investment manager Ferrell is wrongly convicted of a crime and sentenced to time in the slammer. Before he heads to the big house, he contracts the streetwise guy who washes his car (Hart) to toughen him up. Nelson is playing his boss, while Brie will be his fiancée.

Brie, who shines as both Annie Edison on Community and as wronged wife Trudy Campbell on Mad Men, was last heard on the big screen as Unikitty in The Lego Movie. She’s also recently worked on two indie movies, No Stranger Than Love and Search Party.
