Carla Gugino Joins San Andreas
She's reuniting with Dwayne Johnson

Carla-Gugino-Joins-San-Andreas

The last time Carla Gugino and Dwayne Johnson teamed up on screen, we got the updated Race To Witch Mountain, a decent Disney family adventure. They’ll be hoping to repeat the trick with San Andreas, as Gugino is now joining Johnson in the earthquake thriller.

From the sounds of things they won’t be quite as simpatico, character-wise, at least to begin with, since Gugino is set to play Johnson’s ex-wife. He’s a special ops fire fighter, who is figuring out his life in Los Angeles when a huge quake hits, devastating chunks of California. With a treacherous journey ahead, Johnson and Gugino must reach their daughter (Alexandra Daddario) in San Francisco. Will it bring them closer together along the way? The smart money says yes.

Journey 2: The Mysterious Island director Brad Peyton is set to direct the film in Australia this summer, working from a script that was most recently polished by Conjuring duo Chad and Carey Hayes. All being well, the film should be in cinemas next June. Wonder if Warners/New Line will premiere the film in an all-D-Box screen, and then wonder why the floor is covered in popcorn afterwards…
