Three New Images From Sin City: A Dame To Kill For
First look at Jessica Alba, Rourke and Gordon-Levitt!

Almost a decade after Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller's original Sin City, and with so many rumours in the meantime that came to nothing, you'd have been forgiven for thinking a sequel would never materialise. But Sin City: A Dame To Kill For will finally be upon us this year, and to prove it's really happening, here are three noirish new stills. Is that all you've got? Yup.

Two familiar faces and one newbie there. Jessica Alba is back as "exotic dancer" Nancy Callahan, who on this evidence is still "exotic dancing" at Kadie's Bar. She'll appear in the episode The Fat Loss, set after the last film's That Yellow Bastard.

New to the madness and to the monochrome digital backlot cartoonification process is Joseph Gordon-Levitt. He'll appear in the segment The Long Bad Night (original to this film and not one of Miller's comics... yet) playing Johnny, a cocky gambler who wins a game with the wrong opponent.

And once again we have Mickey Rourke as Marv, whose stories this time (Just Another Saturday Night and the titular A Dame To Kill For) are set before last time's The Hard Goodbye. The title story will see him pitted against femme fatale Ava Lord (Eva Green) and teamed up with private eye Dwight McCarthy (Clive Owen and Josh Brolin; it's a facial reconstruction thing).

Miller and Rodriguez are once more co-directing, and also returning are Bruce Willis as Detective John Hartigan, Rosario Dawson as Gail and Jamie King as Goldie and Wendy. Further new faces include Ray Liotta and Jeremy Piven, with Dennis Haysbert inheriting the role of Manute from the late Michael Clarke Duncan.

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For is out in the UK on August 29.

The overdressed stripper?
So, Jessica Alba's character stuck with her day (night?) job, but is now wearing more clothes than she did in the first movie? Honestly, I've seen girls wearing less when out running. More

Let's face it,
Rodriguez needs this. Probably not for cash or for kicks, but because the guy who gave us Desperado, From Dusk Till Dawn and the original has not exactly been knocking them out of the park of late. More

I'll be the first pedant and say it is Clive Owen who plays the post facial reconstruction Dwight. More
