New Three-Minute Amazing Spider-Man 2 Trailer Lands
Here comes the dubstepper

24 February 2014  |  Written by Ali Plumb

There have been many trailers for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. This, the latest, is a whole three minutes long, and though it features plenty of footage we've already seen, it also has a decent chunk of new Spidey goodness. Pin back your earholes and prepare for a new dose of arachnid dubsteppery.

This snippet comes very much from Jamie Foxx's chief bad guy Electro's perspective, with plenty of spooky monologuing going on, but there are still a few humour beats to enjoy, in particular between Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) and Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield). As there's so much on show here, fingers crossed there'll be a lot of surprises still in store for cinemagoers when it's finally released.

The plot goes a little something like this: Peter is still balancing acts of heroism with romancing Gwen and trying to live up to his Uncle Ben’s (Martin Sheen) credo about responsibility. Oh, and he doesn't want to make his Aunt May (Sally Field) worry too much. Three villains have been revealed - Electro, Paul Giamatti's Rhino and Dane DeHaan's Harry Osborne (and, it seems from the trailer, Green Goblin) - all of whom want to squish Andrew Garfield's red and blue hero like a, um, bug.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits cinemas on April 18, 2014, with two more instalments planned for May 2016 and May 2018.

I'm still wondering if there was anything they could have done practically? There're so many FX shots for the film it makes my brain hurt. More
