See Loki Play Captain America In Thor: The Dark World
Update: now with gifs of Tom Hiddleston's Thor audition

**Rather minor Thor: The Dark World spoilers follow!**

If you're a regular listener to the Empire podcast, you may remember our Thor: The Dark World spoiler interview with Tom Hiddleston, where he told us that he got to wear the Captain America suit for a certain scene in the film. Just to prove that he wasn't telling porkies, here is evidence of that day from the film's home entertainment bonus features. Hiddleston wasn't kidding when he claimed that the suit was a good fit.

Hiddleston was, of course, replaced by Chris Evans in the finished film for a moment when Loki uses his powers of illusion to tease his big brother Thor. Honestly, we're not entirely sure why he needed to get into the costume at all. While it's probably justified for all sorts of technical reasons involving lighting and special effects, part of us suspects that Hiddleston just wanted to try it on for size. And who wouldn't? it's so iconic.

Thor: The Dark World hits DVD, Blu-ray and 3D Blu-ray on February 24, so you'll have to hang on until then for more Hemsworth and Hiddleston goodness. Failing that, there's some other Marvel activity on the site. Thor himself - albeit without Loki - will return in Avengers: Age Of Ultron next May.

Update! Other treats are in store for anyone planning on buying the Thor: The Dark World DVD and/or Blu-ray. They include footage of Tom Hiddleston's audition for the role of Thor, back in the day. Here are two gifs to prove it, courtesy of Yahoo

RE: Um....
I remember sitting in the theater when he said that he was turning himself in one of Thor's friends, which made me think of Natalie Portman and then suddenly there is the captain. Brilliant. More
