Thors-Lady-Sif-Heads-To-SHIELD-show

Last week it emerged that Bill Paxton had been signed for a short multi-episode run of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to help goose the ratings for a series that hasn’t been generating as big a viewership as a show spun off from one of the biggest box office hits ever might expect. Now Marvel and ABC are adding a little more comic book/film flavour, with Jaimie Alexander’s Lady Sif stopping by for an episode.

Sif, of course, is the Asgardian warrior-goddess known for kicking almost as much arse as Thor himself across the first film and last year’s Thor: The Dark World. We’re promised that, unlike the last time the film world converged with the TV series, it won’t be a blink-and-you’ll-miss-Samuel-L.-Jackson coda cameo. She’ll be an integral part of the episode’s plot.

It’s not the first time the events of Thor: The Dark World have influenced the show, and to be honest, S.H.I.E.L.D. could use some Asgardian assistance. According to ABC boss Paul Lee, he’s confident that it will return next season. That said, the ratings for the rest of this spring’s episodes still have to be decent…
