New Poster For Schwarzenegger's Sabotage
David Ayer leaves no loose ends

20 December 2013  |  Written by Owen Williams

We had a trailer exactly a month ago showing that Sabotage might not be the kind of Arnold Schwarzenegger vehicle we're used to. Now here's a new poster with the same message: this is a gritty ensemble piece. Listen up 'cause you can't say nothin', they'll shut you down with a push of your button. Or something.

If you only glanced at it quickly, we reckon you'd be hard pressed to recognise Arnold here (is it just us, or is there more than a touch of Malkovich about that facial expression?). Notice also that the top of the image doesn't bear a giant "Schwarzenegger", but trumpets the stars as "the writer of Training Day and the director of End Of Watch". Skip Woods and David Ayer are being sold much harder here than the recent star of The Last Stand and Escape Plan...

Neverthless, Arnold it is that's front and centre, playing Breacher, the leader of an elite DEA unit that busts drug cartels. On their latest bust, however, $10m in drug money goes missing, and someone starts killing off the squad members.

Olivia Williams, Sam Worthington, Joe Manganiello, Max Martini, Terrence Howard, Harold Perrineau and Mireille Enos co-star, and Sabotage will be rockin' in this place on April 25.

RE: aweful
'Mr Graphic Designer' doesn't have complete control over the outcome. He/She will have been provided with a set number of images to work with, copy that can't be changed, and a very prescriptive (be it dumb) brief e.g. 'must have Arnie holding a a gun in centre' or 'must look "gritty" and "real" since the film will need to appeal to a contemporary audience'. All considered, I think 'standard' would've been fairer. 'Crap' is a bit harsh. More
