Wonder Woman Will Appear In Batman Vs. Superman
And Gal Gadot is set to play her

Gal Gadot, Wonder Woman

After stalled attempts to put Wonder Woman on both big and small screens, fans had all but given up on seeing Diana Prince any time soon (except for in The LEGO Movie). But now it emerges via Deadline that Gal Gadot will play the Amazonian warrior in Zack Snyder's Batman Vs. Superman in 2015.

Wonder Woman is, of course, the third of DC Comics' Big Three stars along with the aforementioned Batman and Superman. Hailing from the island of Themyscria, which is entirely populated by women, she originally headed to the mainland after a World War II pilot called Steve Trevor crashed on the island (the comic began in 1941, right in the middle of the War).

Her powers include super-strength and speed, flight and enhanced senses - so she's more a Superman than a Batman on the ability scale. She also has a lasso of truth that compells anyone caught in it to be honest; bulletproof bracelets; a tiara that doubles as an edged throwing weapon; sometimes a magical sword and occasionally (to general giggles) an invisible plane.

Gadot, who's best known for her role in Fast & Furious 5 and 6, also appeared in Knight & Day and Date Night. She certainly ticks the "hot" and "brunette" boxes on the casting Must Haves list, so we look forward  to seeing what she does with the role opposite Cavill and Ben Affleck as Batman.

Snyder said of the news that, "Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.”

Gadot's casting appears to confirm the general suspicion that Warner Bros is building to a Justice League movie to match against Marvel's Avengers. Now all they need to do is build in Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Martian Manhunter and the Flash - easy.

Superman Vs. Batman still doesn't have a confirmed title, but will hit cinemas on July 17, 2015.

So how does this make you feel?
AT LAST! Wonder Woman on the big screen!
I am cautiously optimistic.
How many characters is this thing going to have? Is this a full-on Justice-League-movie-by-stealth?
I'm getting in my invisible jet and flying to LA to complain about the lack of a standalone movie.
What kind of name is Gal Gadot? Is there a Guy Gadot out there?

As a female Superhero myself...
(albeit an amateur one), I am nothing but passionate about flying the flag for us girls. We are Super. We are naturally stronger/better than ANY normal man on the planet and were continuously and relentlessly underrated in the cinematic representation of our social grouping. We are an ethnic minority and we are overlooked. The idea that one of our queens: Wonder Woman will be depicted in the #SuperBat movie is truly exciting. The idea that shell More

RE: Godot is just WRONG for the part!
L: Alien Hunter She is not tough looking enough to play Wonder Woman. More importantly she dosen't even look the part! This may sound sexist but bear with me, She does not have the body for it! Wonder Woman is this curvy and woman! If Jackman, Bale, and Cavill are willing to make their bodies close to the characters then choose an actress who looks the part. rano would have been a perfect fit! Godot is far too skinny and small!ote] Disagree.Carano may be tough but she is not good More

RE: Wrong Wrong Wrong
Has it been confirmed that she will be a major character? Because she might just play an extremely minor role, in which case it would just be as a build-up to a Justice League movie rather than a Justice League movie in its own right. For some reason, whenever a new character is announced for a comic book movie there are cries of things like "too many characters!" as if people forget that not every character in a film has to be a major character. And even if they are, there are plenty of e More

RE: Wrong Wrong Wrong
L: EvilDoctorPorkChop Before i start on a rant, Just look at the photo above. What does Wonder Woman have that Gal Gadot doesn't? Muscles, curves and she looks like she could kill you. Gal Gadot is a very skinny women, with 0 curves. (Ok she is hot in fast and furious) and just looks too sweet and innocent. Henry Cavill was a big git even before man of steel but you can't tell me she is gonna put on the pounds for this role. Gotta agree with comment sabove about Gina Carano. Got the fi More

Chill! She will be fine!
I'll reserve judgement until I see it but I think that she'll be fine in the role. She'll clearly need to work out massively for the role but I'm sure she'll do it with absolutely no problems. Look at how much muscle Cavill put on for M.O.S, and I dare say Affleck will be built like a shit-house door in it BvS too. 3months full on training is all you need to go from in-shape to buff-as-fuck, and with the scientifically tailored diets and workout regimes people in Hollywoodland undertake regular More
