Colin Trevorrow Reveals When Jurassic World Is Set
And don't call it a reboot...

God bless Twitterer Karn Bains (‏@pfcbains916) for taking the time to ask Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow, "Mr. Trevorrow, everytime I read something, it says JW is a reboot. Please tell us that its not a reboot?! I'm going bonkers!" The incoming director's reponse was simple: don't call it a reboot. Also, it'll take place two decades since the events of Jurassic Park...

A "new sci-fi terror adventure", you say? "22 years after the horrific events of Jurassic Park", you say? It's great to see such an intriguing little titbit snuck in a personal tweet from the director to an excited / worried fan.

If we presume the events of JP took place in 1993 (and not the book's 1989 setting), this means that JW's story will be concurrent with its release year, 2015, with the fourth in the franchise currently earmarked for a June 12 release in that year of huge blockbusters. How will technology have improved in that time? Will there be safer pens in Isla Nublar, if it is indeed set in Isla Nublar? Probably not.

And does this mean that some of the characters may be the children of those seen in the original film? Chances are slim, but feel free to conjecture to your heart's content in the comment box below.

RE: Colin Trevorrow Reveals When Jurassic World Is Set
Sorry, there are no delusions, Senor. The book is not only real, but even better, it's snarky in all the right places and very, very realistic. Equal to the original JP (just read chapter 5 of "Re-Creating the Cretaceous") and head and shoulders above the schlocky sequels. It's an adult novel, not one you read to the kids at bedtime, unless you want them to grow up to be Hannibal Lector. , More
