Day Of The Dead Reboot Digs Up A Director
Mark Tonderai will wrangle the zombies

Announced back in July, the latest reboot (the second, for those keeping score) of George A. Romero’s Day Of The Dead was met with both the usual remake reactions and some wondering if a second chance might be able to improve on at least the first reworking. The man in charge of getting it shot is House At The End Of The Street director Mark Tonderai.

He’s been involved for a while, writing the script with Lars Jacobson. The plot appears to hew fairly close to the original, in that it’s set several years after the start of the zombie plague and a group of scientists and survivors are sheltering in a seemingly secure location trying desperately to find a cure. Will Tonderai opt for modern, sprinting zomboids, or classic stumbling ones?

No casting for this one has been announced just yet, though you’d imagine the Millennium Films team would want this one ready for later next year. Meanwhile, if your taste tends to original flavour Romero, however, you should take a listen to our special Podcast interview with the man…
