New Anchorman 2 Character Poster
Veronica Corningstone hits New York

17 November 2013  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Paramount

With Ron Burgundy, Brian Fantana, Brick Tamland and Champ Kind getting their chance to stomp all over New York, Godzilla-style in their character posters (spot them lower down the page) for Anchorman: The Legend Continues, it was only fair that Christina Applegate’s Veronica Corningstone was handed her chance to do the same. The wrong has now been righted, and you can see her poster below.

As you’ll know if you’ve seen the first film, Veronica and Will Ferrell’s Ron were rivals who became lovers. As we pick up the story in the sequel, Ron and Veronica have been married for a few years and their relationship has, frankly, crumbled. No more sexcapades on the most glorious rainbow ever for these two. Both dally with potential new partners – Veronica with Greg Kinnear’s character and Ron with Meagan Good’s – but does this really spell the end for the epic Burgundy-Corningstone partnership?

The film shifts the action to the 1980s, where the news team gets the chance to work in New York and confronts the brave (and confusing) new world of cable and the 24-hour info-cycle. The times, they are once again a-changin’ and Ron and co, as usual, are ill equipped to cope. Hilarity, we’re hoping, thereafter ensues.

Anchorman: The Legend Continues will stride on to screens on December 20.
