Zack Snyder Talks Batman-Superman
As more casting rumours arrive

With Man Of Steel arriving on Blu-Ray across the pond, Warner Bros. naturally wanted to drum up sales. Part of that effort was a live Yahoo event featuring DC fanatic Kevin Smith talking to Steel director Zack Snyder and co-star Amy Adams, which you can watch below. During the event, Snyder dropped a few careful hints about what we can expect from the sequel, which will see Henry Cavill’s Superman clash with Ben Affleck’s Batman.

"The fun of the idea is to be able to play with that relationship," Snyder says. "Whether they fight and become friends, or whether they're friends and they fight… Of course, some physical conflicts will be involved."

He also teased Lex Luthor’s inclusion in the film, saying, “Lex loves to call Superman an alien.”

Naturally, Snyder stopped shy of revealing too much, and most of the plot – beyond the meeting of the two superhero behemoths – remains under wraps. Casting rumours are leaking, however, including reports that actor Adam Driver (best known for Lena Dunham’s HBO show Girls) is the top contender to play Dick Grayson, the former Robin, who is estranged from his crime-fighting partner and working under the alias Nightwing. Latino Review first broke word of the character’s inclusion, and the report has apparently been confirmed by The Wrap’s sources.

In related Supes-Bats news, Warner Bros. has also been looking for their female lead, with speculation that Wonder Woman could show up, at least briefly. The role, however, is currently listed as someone who could be a love interest for Affleck’s Bruce Wayne. Olga Kurylenko, Gal Gadot and Elodie Young are apparently the front-runners.

Snyder is set to start main unit production on the film early next year with a July 17, 2015 release date set.

RE: wait until you've seen the film to write robin off
L: Gazzabrook I like Grayson, yes a robin he's a pain but as Nightwing he's grow and mature, I would prefer to see Tim Drake Robin as Bats sidekick, but heck I'll live with it. And in response to Adam Drivers looks he's not dog ugly, I'd be happy to wake up looking like that, and Grayson is not the slick hot guy that Wayne is, this is also point that people should not be cast just because they are smoking hot and can't act Megan Fox anyone think the article suggest he will be Nightw More

Hopefully those ladies are only for Wayne's love interest and not WW. For WW I want Bridget Regan or Jamie Alexander. More

Robin!? No!!!!!
Please do not include Robin/Nightwing. Who cares! Does anyone on the planet actually like this character. I thought it was a terrible idea but I would've probably gone to see it as I'm a fan of Snyder's work but this little bit of news has made me decide not to go and see it. Add Robin - no ticket money! Yes, looking at those 3 shortlisted women...they've gotta be 3 of the leanest, least intimidating women in Hollywood. Just kills any (admittedly already small) plausibility. Get Katee Sackhoff and dye her hair black, or Gina Carano who can actually kick arse. More

Seriously, who is in charge of casting on this film?
I am actually completely behind Ben Affleck as bats, and have been since the announcement. But could they at least pick someone western to play Wonder Woman, preferably with more physique than a Brazilian supermodel. And Adam driver? They could have found someone uglier to play dick Grayson, like say...Mickey rourke! Has anyone seen this guy? Physique yes, hair yes, but looks? Really? More
