Someone has clearly decided that this should be a Double Ethan Hawke Casting Story Week. And it seems only fair that Halloween is the day to host the more frightening of the two. Hawke has agreed to star in Alejandro Amenabar’s Regression.
While exact plot details were not offered by Variety’s report, we do know that the film – described as an “elevated genre project” – will tap into some deep terrors.
“Alejandro plays in Regression with our deepest primal fears to make us feel once again both profoundly human and extremely vulnerable,” producer Fernando Bovaira tells the trade mag. “This suspenseful and thrilling story, coupled with what we know will be a truly atmospheric setting, is going to be unforgettable for years to come,” adds sales company man Glen Basner. But then he would, wouldn’t he? Shooting for this one is set for the spring.
Hawke has been on something of a horror run recently with the likes of Sinister and The Purge. Earlier this week, he jumped aboard Andrew Niccol’s latest, an untitled drone drama.
