Amazing Spider-Man 3 Locks In Writers
Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman & Jeff Pinkner will be back

With the Amazing Spider-Man sequel set to hit cinemas next year, the producers are cracking on with plans for the third instalment, which already has a ticking clock release date of June 10, 2016 hanging over it. In the first official announcement for the movie, Sony has locked in Amazing Spider-Man 2 writing team Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinkner to crank out the script.

Securing the services of Orci and Kurtzman in particular was wise if only for scheduling reasons: despite their critics, they’re extraordinarily busy writing movies such as the third Star Trek film, producing other projects (Universal’s Mummy reboot among them) and overseeing TV shows. The trio, including Fringe colleague Pinkner, took on the writing of Amazing Spider-Man 2 by working from James Vanderbilt's draft.

As for the second film, director Marc Webb today tweeted a new image from behind the scenes of post-production as a certain web-slinger showed up to visit Pietro Scalia’s editing suite. Take a look…

With Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Sally Field, Paul Giamatti, Dane DeHaan, Chris Cooper and Felicity Jones in the cast, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits our cinemas on April 18 next year. The second film follows in 2016 with the fourth presently dated for May 4, 2018.

Locked In???
The writers are being locked in (and presumably tortured) to draft the script? James White locked in his vocabularly and left it at journo school, it seems. Sorry James, but it really gets on moobs - all this "locked in" business. Enough already! More
