Rosamund Pike Will Be Lady Penelope
In Thunderbirds Are Go

February brought the intriguing news that the Weta Workshop team will be involved in a new take on Gerry Anderson’s classic Supermarionation series Thunderbirds, this time with spiffy animation and far fewer shots of hands moving levers. With ITV Studios and New Zealand’s Pukeko Pictures co-producing, we now have news on the voices, as original Parker David Graham will be joined by Rosamund Pike as the shiny new Lady Penelope.

They represent just two of the casting announcements, with Kayvan Novak on as Brains, John and Gordon Tracy both set to be voiced by Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Rasmus Hardiker taking on Alan and Scott, and Virgil feeling all special because he has one voice all to himself in David Menkin.

Blending CG with live-action miniatures in the way that Weta has become famous for, the series also has Rob Hoegee crafting out scripts ready for a planned launch on ITV in 2015. Thunderbirds really could be go once more this time…
