Robocop Reboot Trailer Online
Dead or alive, you are taking a look

The team behind the new RoboCop knows they have a fight on their hands. There’s an uphill struggle to be fought against those who don’t think a remake of the 1987 Paul Verhoeven classic is necessary and who are waiting, perhaps, to be convinced it could work. We got a look at some new footage and a decent trailer at Comic-Con, and now the latter is online.

The year is the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the centre of robot technology. Overseas, their drones have been used by the military for years, and it’s meant billions for OmniCorp’s bottom line. Now OmniCorp wants to bring their controversial technology to the home front, and they see a golden opportunity to do it.

When Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) – a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit – is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp sees their chance for a part-man, part-robot police officer. OmniCorp envisions a RoboCop in every city and even more billions for their shareholders, but they never counted on one thing: there is still a man inside the machine pursuing justice.

With his updated look (the black battle armour and red-for-danger visor make him look like Michael Knight and K.I.T.T. had a son together) and topical themes about drones and the cost of humanity in war, director Jose Padilha and his cast, including Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Abbie Cornish, Jay Baruchel and Michael K. Williams, might have a shot at overcoming their detractors. In our opinion, the trailer doesn’t hurt their cause, but let us know what you think.

RoboCop will be out here on February 7.

Full Rubber Jacket
Can't help but notice that the suit looks like a rubber/technophiles fetish gear wet dream. The suit from the 1980's looked far more robotic. The original is still one of my favourite films ever, and I wouldn't be exaggerating to say I watched it at least 100 times, this better be at least pretty fucking good if it isn't going to besmirch the happy memories that the original generated for me. Nice shootin son, what's your name? More

The only good thing about this remake is the paycheck they had to gave to Verhoeven to get it made. More

RE: Is this a joke????
It looks like the suit from GI Joe: Rise Of The Cobra, the human hand hanging out the end of the sleeve is incongruous. Watching the trailer and all I could think was that the movie reeks of a feature length episode of a TV series. More

ED209 > Him he original Robocop wasn't a robot either..... rue. But in the original film they pretty much only took Murphy's head and chest I think (hence the baby food?) in this they've kept it all except for his leg and arm that are blown off. He's kept everything else, you had him a hot cup of tea and he's gonna get More

RE: New Suit
L: DONOVAN KURTWOOD L: spark1 did not like early black paint job for the suit but good to see it will follow the bottin design later in the movie. You have it the wrong way round. The silver design is the first suit we see, then they go for black. This has been stated before and is clear from the trailer also. damn, that black suit really sucks. More

L: MonsterCat Two things... 1. Robocop is not a good film because it's graphically violent, it's a good film because it actually has some brains and wit to it. If the remake forsakes intelligence for empty spectacle, then that could be problematic. 2. Did anyone from the studio actually confirm the PG-13 rating? . Nobody has any brains these days 2.
