Ron Howard’s Rush, the chronicle of the racing rivalry between James Hunt and Niki Lauda is now so close to release we can pretty much smell the engine fumes. If you’re anticipating the film and want to get another peek at footage, check out the latest clip.
This little snippet charts the first meeting between hot headed British rising star wheelman Hunt (Chris Hemsworth) and beautiful model Suzy Miller (Olivia Wilde) who would – mild spoiler alert! – go on to become his wife. The attraction is clear from the start, and we can’t pass without complimenting Wilde on her spot-on, cut glass British accent (Thor’s good too, but he’s only got to convert from Australian, which is closer, and he’s used to it with Asgard’s dramatic tones anyway).
It’s not all smiles and laughter, of course. The film also tracks the various clashes on and off the track between Hunt and Daniel Bruhl’s Lauda, and the struggles both men endure in their lives.
With Alexandra Maria Lara, Pierfrancesco Favino, Christian McKay, Julian Rhind-Tutt, Jamie de Courcey, Stephen Mangan and Natalie Dormer also in the cast, Rush drives in on September 13. You can watch a new featurette about the film below.
