AMC clearly likes David Morrissey when he’s being murderous and psychopathic. At least, the US cable channel likes his work on The Walking Dead, where he plays the crazed Governor. He’s now scored a new pilot with the company, locking in the lead for Line Of Sight.
The potential new series promises a lot less eyepatch-wearing torture and scheming, as Morrissey will be playing Lewis Brent, an investigator for America’s National Transportation Safety Board who is involved in a mysterious plane crash. While he survives, he becomes determined to find the cause.
If you enjoy seeing Morrissey obsessed, chances are you might appreciate the show, which is described as "the genre-bending odyssey of one man, who, after surviving the crash dives head first down the rabbit hole on an emotionally disorienting search to find out what has happened to him. He becomes a man whose entire sense of self, his own life and the world as he knows it, completely unravels in a whirlwind of obsession and paranoia."
2 Guns writer Blake Masters is behind this one, which has Jonathan Demme directing the pilot. If it is commissioned, we can probably expect to see less of the Governor, since he’s going to be busy. Though given that Line Of Sight will conceivably shoot in Atlanta, there’s always the chance he could pop in for disturbing visits…
