Empire's Thor: The Dark World Covers Are Here
It's a superhero sibling smackdown!

We already unveiled exclusive new stills from Thor: The Dark World this morning, but now it's the time for our covers to match. The God Of Thunder and his errant brother Loki, God Of Mischief, both get their time to shine on Empire this month. Cue brooding, scheming and some flying through the air on two collectable newsstand and two subscribers' covers (which have now been turned into posters proper). Check them out below.

The covers are but the tip of the iceberg for the October issue, with an extensive set report and cast interviews on the Thor sequel inside. Says Hiddleston of the relationship between the two adoptive brothers, "It's fun to play these opposites. Even down to the fighting styles: Chris was talking about boxing, all right-hooks and upper cuts. I was talking about capoeira; there's this sort of balletic elegance to the way Loki fights because he's the trickster, he's the deceiver, he's the shapeshifter. Thor is a block of granite, or rather uru [the material from which Mjolnir is made] and Loki is like the wind."

This month's covers demonstrate the two sides of this relationship, and will debut in all reputable newsagents across the Nine Realms next Thursday, August 29. Thor: The Dark World hits UK cinemas on October 30 and US cinemas on November 8. For more on the film while you wait, check out our trailer breakdown here and teaser trailer breakdown here.

Loki cover
I subscribe and love the covers, but the alternative that I don't have always seems way cooler! First I get Zod as opposed to Supes and now Loki instead of Thor. Are Empire trying to tell me something in that I always get the bad guys? More

RE:
L: katythegreat If you guys made these available to buy (print version) online individually (without subscribing) you could be making even more bank! These are hard to find at local bookstores, which are dwindling in the USA as it is. People who live paycheck to paycheck can't afford subscriptions. Just sayin'. ould people living paycheque to paycheque afford the prohibitive individual shipping cost from the UK for a magazine this size? I'd to give up shipping them abroad years ago b More
